This project, a web design ‘starter theme' catalogue, is a demonstration of Line49's belief in fundamental website design principles. Featuring a functional layout intentionally devoid of colour and style, this demo site eschews the bells, whistles and gadgets found in typical commercial web templates in favour of a simple list of foundational web layout options
Commercial templates on the Web often come with various preset colour options. You click a theme picker to view your potential new layout in green, blue or red trim. How fun and handy.
Except that this has no value whatsoever for you –- unless you happen to have such a low threshold of creativity that you actually choose one of these typically unsophisticated colour options. Any reasonable designer or business owner will self-determine the colour palette for the materials they create. Providing garish purple and caramel options for your project planning purposes is, to us, needless bloat.
